Watercolor Skirt

Over Christmas, my amazing mother gave me a bolt of this beautiful sheer polyester floral fabric. I've always loved gathered skirts. I think it's because I grew up doing ballet and there was nothing more magical than a soft tutu, which is just layers and layers of gathered tulle that float up like heaven  as you dance. Experiences like that change a girl forever.

Even though I love gathered skirts, a lot of times they just look really bulky. This floral polyester is so sheer it just adds texture instead of weight. I love it. It feels like I'm walking around in a watercolor painting.

Since I had a whole bolt of this great fabric, I made four more Watercolor Skirts.
They are available here.

But I have to tell you I am IN LOVE with this fabric! Can you say where it came from?

The fabric was a gift from my mom, so I don't know for sure.
