Loyal Dress

I think this dress might be one of my favorite dresses I've ever thought up. The special detail with this piece is the bias-cut midriff. The bias-cut allows the waist to stretch just slightly, so it's very comfortable. With the opposing direction of the stripes on the midriff, it makes any girl look like she's a perfect hourglass.

Also, I recently read a great article about the connotations of red dresses and blue dresses. It's brilliant. You should read it.

Not only would it make it super comfy, but the lines would help to make the waistline appear smaller too. Love to effect of the look!

As an art historian that article is fab, thank you for sharing! Also, as a lover of pretty things that dress is amazing. However in reading your blog I'm going to have to start a new mantra "Though shalt not covet thy sewing-friend's amazing productivity". You are a machine! A well dressed machine x
