I shined all the fall shoes in the house. I had never shined shoes before, and they all turned out looking brand new, especially the black ones.

I've resurrected my art room and I've been trying to remember how to do the things I love. I've had my eyes on dollars and clients and taxes for so long it seems, that it's taking a little effort to change my focus, which I'm very excited about. A few weeks ago, Drew suggested I try drawing again. I sat at my drawing table for about a half an hour, and I decided to just do a collage. It's definitely nothing amazing, but it's a start, and it feels so good.

Drew and I didn't have a reception or a party when we got married, so we thought a big party for our third year would be fun. My best friend's mother in law let us celebrate at her villa which was just beautiful. I love being married to my true love. He makes my dreams come true.
Now, the party.

In July, Drew and I celebrated our third anniversary with a big formal party. We got him a new suit for the occasion, so I decided I wanted a new dress to match him. At first I really wanted a gold dress, but every honey golden satin I held up to my skin made me look sickly, so I decided to go with a vintage champagne satin that I already had in my cupboard. So here it is!
I designed this gown with double darts for a really sculpted fit, and a pleated sash that my niece told me looked like a fox tail. I also wanted loose fitting sleeves since I would be hugging so many people.
If you want to see all the photos from our anniversary party check them out here.

My niece Ellaria is the cutest chubbiest little girl I've ever met. I got a great idea for reversible children's clothing, so, her dress is the first, and I'll be making many more soon. The dress has a button-back closure, box-pleated neckline, and it is reversible. If she spills her snack on it, you just take it off turn it around, and she has a new dress on.

One of my best friends is a little Korean girl named Sujeong. Her family owns a restaurant in the same building where my shop is located. During the summer I altered a dress that had all these wool petals that the customer wanted removed. Sujeong loved them, and wanted to put them on something. So, for her eleventh birthday party (which I was invited to) I presented her with a back to school fall dress. She loved it.
